Accomplishment: Dedicated after-school mentor to kids.

Key to Awesomeness: Robert Sims, a West Philly resident who is in the midst of his senior year at Roxborough High and plans to go to college, started working with youngsters at North Light back in October.

“The kids love me,” he said. “I like playing with them. They’re fun to be around.”

Sims has earned himself some accolades at the community center, whose staff is impressed with the teens’ ability to connect with those his junior.

Sims typically works with kids at the center on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 3 to 6 p.m. through his school year internship with the Urban Sustainability Leadership Academy.
