Police Ready for Bike Race Ramp Up

Police issue early alert about bike race weekend.

With Manayunk Bike Race weekend on the horizon, the 5th District of the Philadelphia Police Department has issued an alert asking for responsible behavior from area residents.

The alerts ask that residents refrain from public drunkenness, underage drinking, disorderly behavior, public urination and unruly house parties.

Police officers as well as representatives from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board will be out in force the entire weekend to try to curb dangerous and unruly behavior.

Police insist that there will be arrests, fines and community service given to individuals who break the law.

Police are also asking that anyone who witnesses any unlawful behavior at anytime during the bike race weekend to call 911.

The Manayunk Bike Race will run on June 2.
