Dobson Students Share Love of Manayunk Canal

Towpath features artwork from elementary school students.

Just in time for the Manayunk Arts Festival, students from  exhibited their flair for art and science.

In an art installation behind Main Street businesses, third, fifth and eighth grade students worked to spruce up the . The digital designs, which run along the towpath throughout Main Street, were spotlight the water habitat in the canal and locally within the Schuylkill River.

The project coincides with a temporary art installation at Canal View Park, , that brings the canal water to strollers in an interactive light display. The Philadelphia Mural Arts Program and the organized the event.

The students' art hangs behind businesses like , Belvedere Business Group and  along the towpath. The Schuylkill Project helped organize the collaboration.
