Kildare's Welcomes Philadelphia Union Players for MLS All-Star Event

Manayunk pub hosts meet-and-greet with Philly soccer players and live-action pool ball table.

Leading up to the MLS All-Star Game at PPL Park, in Manayunk lives up to its soccer reputation Monday night.

The Main Street bar was voted as one of two local bars to host meet-and-greets prior to the Major League Soccer All-Stars taking on Chelsea FC, of the English Premier League.

Philadelphia Union players Antoine Hoppenot and Chris Konopka head out to Manayunk Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. for autographs, as the pub will be decked out in MLS swag.

In addition, organizers say patrons can play Pool Ball—a live-action pool game, where the billard balls are replaced with soccer ones, and people shoot into nets instead of pockets.

Check out the YouTube video for more information about Pool Ball, or visit the bar's Facebook page for info on the event.

The All-Star Game is July 25 at 8:30 p.m., and you can catch it at Kildare's.

Love watching MLS soccer (even if it's not anywhere near the level of true international leagues...yet...) I have to slag on Kildare's. Chain bars are embarrassing, at best, but IRISH chain bars are the worst...fits in well on Main Street though, makes it easier to enjoy a REAL bar knowing the types of people in Kildare's WON'T be at a real bar (like Flatrock or the Manayunk Tavern, if one must drink on Main Street). Just my opinion though...

Spot-On RoxMan - these "plastic shamrocks" became vogue in the past decade and have become a caricature.
