SEPTA Extends Services for Made in America Festival

Jay Z and Pearl Jam festival on Ben Franklin Parkway set for Sept. 1-2.

Now that Hurricane Issac shouldn't be a problem this weekend, Philadelphia readies itself for the Made in America Festival on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

Although the event will occur downtown, its impact will be felt in Northwest Philadelphia during the Sept. 1-2 festival, which features Jay Z and Pearl Jam leading a cast of artists.

SEPTA announced bus detours and increased regional rail activity throughout the weekend.

Buses will reroute because of parkway closures. Impacted lines include: Routes 7, 32, 33, 38, 43, and 48. Please go to System Status for complete details.

In addition, regional rails will run at a greater rate than a typical weekend. Access to Suburban Station makes most sense for riders looking to attend the festival.

Late-night service on the regional rail will also be extended. The last train to Norristown on the Manayunk/Norristown line leaves Suburban Station at 1:48 a.m. on Saturday and 11:48 p.m. on Sunday.

The Chestnut Hill West and East lines will leave at 11:50 p.m. and 11:51 p.m., respectively, both nights.
