Here's what's going on this week in Roxborough and Manayunk.

Day-Off Camp: The Schuylkill Center will host a day camp on Monday, Oct. 14 starting at 8 a.m.  Here's how they describe the camp: "Why does the temperature drop in the fall?  Why do leaves change colors?  Where do all the animals of summer go?  Learn all this and more as we explore our woods, looking for signs of the season.For ages 5 – 12 | $55 ($45 Schuylkill members)Extended day until 6:00 pm is available for an additional fee of $15/day. Whispers Along the Wissahickon: Join the Friends of the Wissahickon (FOW) on Friday, October 18, 2013, as they celebrate the tenth anniversary of Whispers Along the Wissahickon, the popular fall celebration that has become a fall tradition for many Philadelphia families. A variety of activities will be offered: hay rides, face painting, live music, a large bon-fire, and more. The event will be held at the Wissahickon Environmental Center, at 300 Northwestern Avenue (19118) from 5:30 to 9 p.m. A casual dinner, beer, wine, and other beverages will be served. 

Hallowyunk 5K: There will be a 5K race in Manayunk on Saturday, Oct. 19, starting at 8 a.m.  Here's how the organizers describe it: "A race so 
fun it’s scary!  The Hallowyunk 5k is a fantastic autumn run through downtown Manayunk with prizes to overall & age group winners, plus recognition for best costumes!  Prizes will be given out during the post-race party at Kildare’s Pub.
