Halloween Takes Center Stage This Week in Roxborough and Manayunk
Here's what's going on this week in Roxborough and Manayunk.
Halloween Hikes and Hayrides: The Schuylkill Center is hosting Halloween Hikes and Hayrides on Friday and Saturday night this week. Here's how they describe them: Take a magical walk through woods aglow with jack-o-lanterns, where you'll meet friendly talking animals eager to share their nocturnal ways. Enjoy a hayride along a woodland road, a campfire, s'mores, and pumpkin painting, too. Don't miss this unique family-favorite—a Schuylkill Center tradition.

Event runs Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26,6:00 -10:00 pm each night. $10/person (Schuylkill members $7); $40 max per family (Hayride included)
Fall Festival in Pretzel Park: There will be a fall festival in Pretzel Park all day on Saturday starting with a Farmers Market at 10:30 a.m. and closing with a screening of a classic horror movie at 6:30 p.m. Click here for a complete list of events.

Zombie Dance Party: From 2-3 p.m., Zombies will be taking over Cotton Street in Manayunk, lurching out with eerie dance moves from Michael Jackson’s classic hit, Thriller. Dancers of all ages are welcome to compete in the ghoulish zombie frolic right off of Main Street in Manayunk.
Don’t know all the moves to Michael Jackson’s Thriller? No worries! We will have Merge Dance Studio Owner and Choreographer, Christa Campbell, leading a step-by-stepinstruction session before the competition begins!

The competition will be broken into three waves. The first, for kids ages 12 and under, the second, for teens, ages 12-18, and the final for adults, ages 18 and over! The dancers will pull off their best Michael Jackson moves and be tapped on the shoulder to exit the floor one-by-one until the winner is left standing.
$1,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to the winners: "Best Dancer" and "Best Zombie Costume."
