Week Ahead: Civic Associations Meet, Food Tours

Here's what's going on around town in the Week Ahead.

There are a ton of Civic Association meetings this week.  Here's when and where everyone meets.

Wissahickon Neighbors Civic Association

Meeting Dates: They meet at the Pilgrim Church on the first Monday of each month from 7:30pm-9:00pm (with a break for July and August).  The church is located at the corner of Terrace Street and Dawson Street, and off-street parking is available.  The meeting room is accessible from the parking lot.

Borders: 

• On the SOUTH by Main Street and the Schuylkill River
• On the WEST by Shurs Lane and Walnut Lane
• On the NORTH by Henry Avenue
• On the EAST by Hermit Street and Ridge Avenue to the Wissahickon Creek

Next Meeting: Monday, Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m.

Ridge Park Civic Association

Meeting Dates: The Ridge Park Civic Association meets quarterly on the first Thursday of of March, June, September, and December.  Its meetings are held in the 5th Police District which is located at Ridge and Cinnaminson and start at 7 p.m.

Borders: On the East side of Ridge Avenue from the South side of Hermitage Street to the South side of Domino Lane and Fountain with a boundary of the Wissahickon Creek.

On the West side of Ridge Avenue from Hermitage Street to Harmon Road and down the hill to Umbria Street between Leverington and Domino (to include Canton Street) with a boundary of the Schuylkill River.

Next Meeting: Thursday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m.

Upper Roxborough Civic Association

Meeting Dates: Meets at 6:30 p.m. the second Wednesday of every month Roxborough Presbyterian Church.

Next Meeting: Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 6:30 p.m.

Wissahickon Interested Citizens Association

Meeting Dates: Meets at 7 p.m. every second Wednesday of the month at Northern Home for Children, 5301 Ridge Avenue Roxborough.

Borders: Wissahickon Park, Ridge Avenue, Hermit Street, and Henry Avenue.
