Celebrate Roxtoberfest This Saturday

The Roxborough Development Corporation wants to bring Octoberfest to Roxborough.

The steep hills of Roxborough will come alive with the sound of music and the taste of our neighborhood’s own brew of Oktoberfest during the first annual Roxtoberfest celebration. This family friendly street festival will feature nearly 60 local, regional, national and international companies for our neighborhood’s first Oktoberfest celebration. Regionally acclaimed performers including The Racer and Ginger Coyle will perform live on the RoxtoberfestShowcase Stage. Roxtoberfest which is presented by East River Bank is free of charge.  

This year’s Roxtoberfest Beer Garden sponsored by Penn Distributors of Roxborough will feature Shock Top’s Pumpkin Wheat, Victory’s Festbier©, Bud Light and a beer tasting by the Foodery. Favorite foods will include Sausages and Bratwursts from the American Chef’s Federation, the Continental Bank Treat Truck and some of the city’s best food trucks. “Roxborough’s Oktoberfest includes face painting, moon bounces, food trucks, free live music, a beer garden and even a petting zoo. Roxtoberfest will have something for all.” says Bernard Guet, Executive Director of the Roxborough Development Corporation. 

A show of support for this year’s celebration in the form of sponsorship comes from Roxborough Memorial Hospital, The Galman Group, Penn Distributors and Freedom Taxi.Roxtoberfest was developed in conjunction with Advent, a local Roxborough business that specializes in advertising, event production and entertainment. Roxtoberfest will take place onSaturday, October 5, 2013 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Lyceum Avenue between Ridge Avenue and Mitchell Street.
