StrEAT FestivalMore than 40 food trucks along with vendors and musicians will line Main Street on Saturday for the fall version of the StrEAT festival put on by the Manayunk Development Corporation.  The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

North Light Casino NightThere will be a casino night at the Manayunk Brewing Company on Friday, Sept. 20, starting at 7 p.m. to benefit North Light Community Center.  Here's how the Center describes the event: "Tickets are $40 in advance, $50 at the door, available online atwww.northlightcommunitycenter.org Ticket price includes admission, $50 in gaming chips, complimentary hot and cold hors d’ouvres and discounted drinks. A perfect time to try your luck and flavors from local restaurants. Must be 21 to play. The River Club will be filled with tables for black jack, craps and roulette. “Happy Hour” drink prices all night. No monetary rewards will be given. At closing, trade in your chips for raffle tickets to choose gift baskets via a “pick-a-prize” raffle. Or trade them in for  “super” tickets for the grand prize. All proceeds benefit North Light Community Center. North Light is a community-based non-profit serving some 3,000 Philadelphia neighbors annually through programs for children, teens and families." 

Volunteer WorkdayThe Schuylkill Center for Education will hold a volunteer workday on Saturday, Sept. 21, at 10 a.m.  Here's how the center describes the event: Get some fresh air and exercise while giving back to the  land. Help us remove invasive plants from our forest, fix deer fences, or  maintain the trails.  Wear long pants and  sturdy boots and bring a water bottle.
