Horses and History

Where/When: Saturday, August 24, 1p.m., Kitchen's Lane parking lot in West Mt. Airy (19119) 

Why Go: From the organizers: "The route will take us through gorgeous shady woods and a breezy meadow. Learn about horses in the park, the history of the Monastery Mansion and Stables, and steps taken to protect the environment. We will follow the White Trail on our return to the historic Monastery Mansion and Stables. Difficulty: brisk pace along rough, steep terrain with stops to talk. Distance: 3 miles along the Orange trail between Kitchen's Lane and Mount Airy Ave. Be prepared to scramble over rocky outcrops and logs. Children are welcome with adult supervision; dogs on leash are welcome. Meet at the parking lot at the bottom of Kitchen’s Lane in West Mt. Airy."

Dance Studio Open House

Where/When: Saturday, August 24, 2013, 1 p.m., 4047 Cresson St., 2nd Floor Rear, Philadelphia, PA 19127

Why Go: Merge Dance Studio, "Where Dance and Fitness Merge, in Manayunk will be holding two open houses to allow everyone to come in to see their space, get fitted for and order dancewear, learn more about their classes, and to register for their fall session. The open houses will be on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013 from 1:00-4:00pm and Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013 from 5:00-8:00pm. You may also register at anytime by mailing in your registration form and tuition.
