Former St. Timothy's Choirmaster Passes Away

A former organist and choirmaster passes away.

Harriet I. Harmer, or Roxborough, 74 Beloved wife of Ronald; devoted mother of Traci and Kelley J. Harmer (Marybeth), the late Keith (Cathy), and the late Todd Harmer. Loving Meme of Sean, Laine, Morgen, Rory and Ellie. [Legacy/Times Herald] George W. Tobias, of Roxborough, died March 20 Since coming to the Philadelphia area in 1963, Mr. Tobias was organist/choirmaster at Saint Mark's Church in the Frankfort section of Philadelphia and at Christ Church (Episcopal) in Riverton, NJ. He became organist/choirmaster of Saint John's Episcopal Church in Norristown in August of 1979. Two Roxborough High Grads Pass Away

Two Roxborough High alums pass away this week.

Richard J. Johnson, of Roxborough, 85 He was a 1945 graduate of Roxborough High School where he was very active in their band. He also attended University of Penn Wharton School of Business. In his younger days he played his saxaphone in a Big Band...he is survived by his wife, Mary Lou (Neber) Johnson; a daughter, Linda L. Johnson (Tom Allen) of Carlsbad, CA; three sons, Paul E. Manayunk Nun Passes Away

A woman born in Manayunk passes away this week.

Sister Adorata Basara, of Manayunk, died April 20 Born in Manayunk, PA, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Kozak) Basara. Sister Adorata entered the Bernardine Order on February 1, 1947 and was in her 66th year of religious life. Sister earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Records from Mt. Carmel Mercy, Detroit, MI. She served her ministry in Pennsylvania and Virginia as a teacher, medical records, librarian and superior. [Legacy/Reading Eagle]
