Philadelphia Police are searching for a bank robber after the second incident in four days at the TD Bank Branch at 5501 Ridge Ave. Police Spokeswoman Officer Christine O'Brien said a man walked into the bank branch just after noon on Sunday. He gave the teller a note demanding money, O'Brien said. According to O'Brien, he fled north on Ridge Avenue with $400 in cash. (see surveillance photos, right) There are no reports of any injuries and no arrests have been made. Police are looking for a man wearing a black hat and all-black clothing. Police believe the same man is responsible for at least four incidents this month, including the robbery attempt at the same bank branch on Thursday. Authorities are reporting that the TD Bank at 5501 Ridge was robbed Thursday morning.
The following information has been provided by the Philadelphia branch of the FBI: Philadelphia Police and FBI representatives are investigating an attempted bank robbery that took place in Roxborough Thursday morning. According to a release from the Philadelphia branch of the FBI, an unknown man entered the TD Bank at 5501 Ridge Avenue at approximately 10:20 a.m. Thursday morning and presented a teller with a note demanding money. It is unclear at this time if the unknown man left the bank with any money. Authorities describe the man as being in his late 20s, approximately 5'10", goatee, and wearing a dark jacket and gloves at the time of the incident. The Lower Merion Police Department and the FBI are seeking the public's assistance to identify a black man who robbed a Citizens Bank branch inside an ACME Market at 121 East City Line Avenue in Bala Cynwyd on Saturday. According to the FBI, at about 10:47 a.m. Saturday, the man approached the bank and handed a note to the teller, demanding money. According to Philadelphia Police, on Aug. 30 at 4:12 p.m., an unidentified man entered the Continental Bank at 7133 Ridge Ave. and handed a bank teller a demand note requesting money. This guy is probably riding the 65bus on septa. All of those banks are on the same route and this guy probably also lives on that route. Maybe the police should also look for footage from septa. Post his face at every stop on that route and i bet someone will recoginze him. Who knows just a thought. Gotta get this a-hole off the street one way or another.
