The main photo on the story may be great, but it’s not the winner. Click on the photos to see the winner.
Congratulations to Michele Ippoliti. She is the winner of this week’s Patch Picture of the Week contest with her picture of Michael Ippoliti, on the football field. Michael is entering his fourth year with the Conestoga Generals in Berwyn and passionate about football. Coming in a close second this week was Kelly Cortese’s picture of Courtney Cortese in the pool. Courtney is on the Great Valley High School swim team, as well as the Chester Valley Golf Club Swim Team. As usual, there were some great pictures this week and I’m glad I didn’t have to pick the winner. It’s great to watch the best compete in the Olympics in London, but it’s also wonderful to see the amazing talent we have here at home, some of whom could make their way to future…

Check out all these great local athlete pictures from your neighbors and vote on which one you think is the best.
The 2012 Summer Olympics in London are officially open and the world’s best athletes are competing for gold. But those aren’t the only great athletes. We have great athletes all around us, on the Little League field, on the local swim team, playing tennis at the local community court and everywhere we look. These athletes may be the next Olympians or they may just be good athletes. We want to celebrate them and their achievements. This week, we asked and you uploaded all these great pictures of local athletes. Now it's your turn to say which picture is best. All the pictures are numbered in the caption area. Please vote by giving the photo number in the comments below. We'd also love to know why you think that is the best photo, but all we…

Add a picture of a local athlete and you could win a Patch prize pack in our Picture of the Week contest.
The Olympics Opening Ceremonies are Friday when the world’s best athletes compete for gold. But those aren’t the only great athletes. We have great athletes all around us, on the Little League field, on the local swim team, playing tennis at the local community court and everywhere we look. These athletes may be the next Olympians or they may just be good athletes. We want to celebrate them and their achievements. Please upload pictures of your local athletes (no matter how young, as long as you are the parent if you’re uploading a child’s picture). Let us know who is in the picture, what town he or she is from and maybe even a bit about that person and the sport he or she is playing. We also want to know in the caption what town you’re …

Find out who won the regional Top Dog contest.
Congratulations to our regional Top Dog winner, Kadey and Bailey. Bailey, 14, and Kadey, 11, are members of the Singer family in Bala Cynwyd. The sisters now move on to the Greater Philadelphia area competition, which opens Monday, so check back to vote for your regional winners. Neela, of West Chester, is our Top Dog runner up. And all our dogs are winners. Thanks so much for sharing your dog pictures with Patch. Other than the votes, the most talked about dog in our comments was Riley, from Springfield, who was a rescue dog from Col. Potter Cairn Rescue. Congratulations to Donna MacNeal, the winner of our Father’s Day Contest and $500. This is what Donna had to say about her father: I have to say I had the best dad in the world. When he was a young man he got laid off from his job and that was it, he decided to have his own company. My father started off with a small truck picking up trash and then he made his own company. (He wasn't the biggest company but certainly the best). He gave his children everything we needed. Love, support, a wonderful home, with help from his wife of course. My dad had passed away 2 years ago now but I have to say daddy thanks for all you have given us and I love and miss you more than you know. Love your very proud daughter. xoxo Happy Father's Day!! Patch …

We’d like to give each of you the opportunity to tell the greater Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley areas why your father is so special and what makes him so wonderful. You may have a story you’d like to …
