Uwishunu has put out a list of what it considers the top "old-school" diners in the city, and the Manayunk Diner has made the cut. The results are in and Bob's Diner was named Roxborough-Manayunk's best diner by Patch readers in last week's Best of Patch poll. The Ridge Avenue establishment received 53 percent of the votes with Taylor's Restaurant coming in second with 23 percent. According to Patch's restaurant reviewer, Bob's pancakes were some of the best she ever had. "The edges were so crisp that I could hear them gently breaking when I bit into them. The middle of the pancake was light, fluffy and perfectly cooked," she wrote in an article published earlier this year. I have not been in the Manayunk Diner for over a year, but I agree. Average food, high prices, snotty wait staff, and a diner that does not really look like an average diner. It is a diner in name only. more ›
