Take in the initial First Friday of 2013.

Manayunk continues its First Friday festivities with its first, First Friday of 2013 Jan. 4.  The monthly arts and business event has a Facebook page with all the details, which people can check out here. Here are five specific events or give-aways that Patch thought noteworthy. The Wall Cycling Studio—Free class starting at 6 p.m. Facebook. The Attic—All store items are marked 10 percent off. Facebook. The Spiral Bookcase—Abstract painter Nicole Cournoyer kicks off her month-long exhibition. Facebook. Pretzel Park Concert: Zorro Gato at First Friday

Manayunk park hosts First Friday event starting at 6 p.m.

The Friends of Pretzel Park close their First Friday summer concert series with one fall jam Oct. 5 in Manayunk. Live to the Pretzel Park stage week are two local bands—Harper and Zorro Gato. The free concert starts at 6 p.m. and goes along with the First Friday events happening on Main Street below. According to the Pretzel Park website, Harper is a four-piece blues rock band and Zorro Gato performs "a funky brand of blues-rock that is not afraid to explore new territories." Check out the Zorro Gato cover of The Cure and (more recently) 311 hit, "Love Song." And be sure to mark your calendars for the Oct. 27 Pretzel Park Fall Festival. First Pretzel Park Concert Debuts at First Friday

Monthly Manayunk arts event premiers May 4.

With the intention of further linking Main Street with Pretzel Park, a new concert series launches at Manayunk's First Friday. The Friends of Pretzel Park invite neighbors to bring their lawn chairs to the Manayunk park Friday from 6 to 8 p.m., as the first event of a monthly summer concert series debuts. Musician James Klueh will take the stage at the free show, performing with Chrissie Loftus. The singer/songwriter recently released "Soulicana Express." Visit his website for more info. First Friday, Manayunk Style

The month opens with several events in the Main Street area.

Luckily, the weather has held out and Feb. 3 should be a great evening for First Friday in Manayunk. The National Weather Service calls for partly cloudy skies with little chance of rain. It may get chilly, but temperatures should be around 40 degrees at 8 p.m. with minimal wind.  Several businesses will open up their doors for art galleries, live music, beer tastings and other specials, according to the Manayunk.com.
