Where Can I Donate Food, Clothes and Toys?

You can give back this holiday season by donating clothes and food to those in need across the Delaware Valley.

  The holidays can be a great time to help those less fortunate. Below is a list of places that are accepting food, clothing, and toy donations in the Philadelphia area. You can help make the holidays brighter for those in need. Food Donations WMMR's 2012 Camp Out For Hunger From Monday, November 26 through Friday, November 30, Preston and Steve, from WMMR's morning radio show, will be living in an RV to collect non-perishable food items on behalf of Philabundance at the Metroplex in Plymouth Meeting. If you cannot make it to the Camp Out, you can purchase food to donate through ACME's website. ACME will deliver your purchase on November 26. You can also drop off donations at local ACME locations. Community Center Leaves Light on for NW Philly Youth

The North Light Community Center has grown despite financial challenges to serve thousands.

One would be hard pressed to find a more encompassing, more accessible neighborhood hub than the North Light Community Center in Manayunk. Outside, various tile and mural projects coordinated by volunteers and the students who frequent the center adorn the walls. Sprinkler turtles, young trees, a jungle gym, basketball nets, and newly donated and designed benches with planter boxes built into them create a safe haven within the fence. Inside, an indoor basketball court with a team-created mezzanine above, a student gym, classrooms, and play centers covered with paintings of Eric Carle book covers and motivational quotes tell the story of a community center that has survived its share of hardships to become an organization that serves some …
