Philadelphia Sport & Social—Game for Another 20 Years
Manayunk-based athletic league celebrates 20-year anniversary.
Twenty years is a long time. Over two decades, a small-scale recreation sports outfit comprise of a handful of teams has exploded into a 2,000-team, 150,000-player powerhouse serving most of the Delaware Valley. Roxborough-based Philadelphia Sport and Social Club will ring in 2013 by celebrating its 20th year anniversary, providing adults in Philadelphia, West Chester, Lancaster and beyond with healthy competition and life-long friendships. In 1993, PSSC debuted with co-ed outdoor volleyball games at 26th and Pine Streets. Chicago-based Worldwide Sport and Social owned the company, and began expanding with football and softball leagues.
