Putting together a Thanksgiving feast is no simple feat. Between the shopping and the cooking, there’s barely time left to set the table and make everything just right. Share your best recipes for after the Thanksgiving feast.
Dinner’s done and the only thing more stuffed than the bird is you. Now the question becomes: What to do with all those leftovers? While many say simple reheating is all that’s necessary to have a “day after” feast, others have elaborate recipes for turning Thanksgiving leftovers into gourmet delights. From savory turkey soups to sinfully delicious pot pies and mile-high sandwiches, everyone has their own ideas on what to do with what’s leftover. The Food Network even has an entire recipe collection dedicated to the topic. Our fall foliage has peaked, but although the leaves may no longer be as pretty, you can still see some great fall foliage pictures that were entered as part of our photo contest. Congratulations to Dick Brant, of Bryn Mawr. He is the winner of Patch’s Fall Foliage Picture of the Week contest. His picture of the rope hanging over the countryside dotted below with fall color was the post popular with our users. Thanks to everyone who submitted your great pictures. We had some great pictures submitted and I’ve included them all in this article so anyone who missed them can take a look. Brant was sent his Patch prize pack in the mail and is hopefully enjoying it.

The long-time tradition continues Thursday.
For more than 40 years, the area's public and parochial schools take to the football field at Pechin and Hermitage Streets for the annual Thanksgiving game. Again in 2012, Roman Catholic High School squares up against home team Roxborough High School in the Nov. 22 match-up. The game starts at 10:30 a.m. Neither team had its finest season in recent memory, but that disappears when the rivalry fires up early Thursday morning. Roxborough comes in at 4-6 (2-4 Public League) with Roman at a record of 6-4 (2-2 Catholic). Check out the video from the 2010 game, in which snow makes a guest appearance.

Find out some businesses closed for the holiday.
Not all, but many stores and eateries close for Thanksgiving Nov. 22. All public, parochial and private schools are off for both Thursday and Friday. Additionally, the City of Philadelphia's municipal officers are closed and many government services are unavailable Thursday. Trash pickup for Thursday collection will resume Friday.
