Alexa is currently in pursuit of a Master of Journalism degree with the intention of focusing her study on magazine writing and editing at Temple University. This past year, she studied at Rowan University for the Master of Arts degree in Writing.

Outside of class, she worked part-time in the Rowan Writing Center as a tutor as well as in the office for the College of Graduate and Continuing Education as a clerical assistant. For the Writing Center, she single-handedly launched a pilot outreach initiative to offer in-house tutoring to on-campus student residents.

From January through August of 2010, Alexa contributed hard news and feature articles to the Hunterdon Reviewand the Bernardsville News (both through Recorder Community Newspapers) as well as the Summit and Madison branches of the Patch.

Alexa graduated from the University of Delaware in May of 2009, where she majored in English with a concentration in Creative Writing, and minored in Journalism and Spanish.

During her time at Delaware, Alexa worked on the English department’s literary magazine, Caesura, first as the assistant editor of the fiction department, then as the editor-in-chief. She occasionally wrote for the school newspaper, The Review, and she founded and ran a creative workshop for undergraduates called Write Out Loud.

Alexa’s hobbies and personal interests include: tattoos, listening to music, going to concerts, reading, photo-blogging, photo editing, digital photography, traveling, makeup and beauty products, exercising, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, vegetarianism, baking and cooking, volunteering and charity work, among many others…!
