Wendy's Meeting Scheduled for Next Week

A meeting to discuss the Wendy's project is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 3, at 7:30 p.m. at Leverington Presbyterian Church.

There will be a public meeting on Thursday, Oct. 3, at Leverington Presbyterian Church at 7:30 p.m., to discuss the proposed Wendy's at the intersection of Roxborough and Ridge Avenues.

Last week a spokesperson for the Wendy's project said that the development team was targeting a Spring 2014 completion date.

Earlier this year, developers announced a plan at the former site of the Bunting House, but that plan was retracted after public outcry.

At the time, the developers told residents that they would try to pursue an alternative to Wendy's.

The spokesperson for the project said last week that the developers explored all of their options, and Wendy's is the only one that remains viable.

Plans to build a Wendy's have been filed with the city, but no permits for construction have been pulled.

If the Wendy's were to be constructed the developers would need a special exception from the zoning board of appeals.

The meeting will be hosted by the Central Roxborough Civic Association at Leverington Presbyterian Church on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 7:30 p.m.
